Strictly Scandinavian Events

Scandinavian Heritage Fesival - October 8-10 2010  at Puyallup Fairgrounds.  A fun filled weekend with live music, demostrations and all sorts of vendors, including delicious food.  11 AM - 7 PM everyday.  Oktoberfest is also happening at the same time in a seperate building.  Come join the fun!  More information at www.oktoberfestnw.com/SHF.html

Sons of Norway Lutefisk Dinner - October 17, 2010 at Normanna Hall in Tacoma.  Fill your belly with Lutefisk, Lefse, meatballs and more.  Lunch starts at 11 am and goes until 3 pm.  Vendors, including us, are on hand before or after you've eaten.

Trick or Treat in the Harbor - October 31,   Gig Harbor merchants are ready for the dressed up kiddies.  From 3 pm - 6 pm the local merchants invite your kids to come down and Trick or Treat in the Harbor.  Fun for kids of all ages!

Scandinavian Bazaar October 30-31 2010.  A fun filled day of delicious open faced sandwiches, craft booths and Strictly Scandinavian Gifts!  More information posted soon.

Annual Open House at Strictly Scandinavian - November 20, 2010  Come for a fun filled day with Nordic Spirit playing between 1 pm - 3 pm.  The store will be filled with Christmas items so get your shopping done early with the best selection.

Gig Harbor Boat Parade and Late Night Shopping - December 11th.  Not only is this the Lucia day but the whole town is buzzing with activity until 9 pm.  It begins with the parade of lighted boats in the harbor at approximately 6 pm and shop to keep warm and listen to the carolers.  Really get in the spirit of things.  It's one of the most fun events!

Potato LefseIf you love lefse and I don't know many who don't this class is for you.  Learn how to make the wonderful potato rounds from Mary.  She has been doing it most of her life and is a good instructor.  She'll turn potatoes, flour and butter into the best tasting Lefse you could imagine.  Class fee is $5.00 and all supplies are provided.  You get to take some pieces with you and of course eat a bit!  Pre-registration is required.  253-851-5959 or info@strictlyscandinavian.com.

Hardanger Embroidery Classes.  Hardanger is a beautiful Scandinavian art.  Our instructor Edda Todd has been doing this needlework for sometime and is quite accomplished.  The class is limited so reservations must be made. Class fee is $15.00 which includes kit to make a small item.  Embroidery scissors may be purchased if you don't have any at the class.  Call to Register 253-851-5959 or info@strictlyscandinavian.com.

Kransekake Cooking Class - TBD:  Aase will teach us how we can make our own traditional Kransekake for our celebrations.  She is an expert and they taste great!  Class fee is $5.00 and all supplies are provided.  You get to take some pieces with you and of course eat a few!  Pre-registration is required.  253-851-5959 or info@strictlyscandianvian.com.
